IRON COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION
The Iron County Adult Education Program offers education services to adult students seeking Adult Basic Education (remedial skills in Reading, Math, and Language, English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, or Adult High School Completion.
Adult Basic Education is for adult students that are functioning below a 9th grade level in Reading, Math, or Language. These students must increase their education functioning level to at least 9th grade before significant progress can be made towards their academic goals.
GED Preparation is for adult learners wanting to prepare to pass the GED (General Education Development). This exam is an opportunity for adults to prove basic competency skills in Reading, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Language Arts. We us the official GED Predictor and its study materials to prepare adults for the actual GED. To pass the GED, a student must score at least 145 on each of the 4 sections of the exam. After the exam has been passed, the student will receive a "Utah High School Diploma" from the Utah State Office of Education. For more information about the GED (click here).
Adult High School Completion is for adult learners wanting to finish a high school diploma. We evaluate student transcripts and determine which credits have been earned and which credits still need to be earned before diploma completion. This is a 24 credit diploma.
